Our Projects

Rooftops, terraces, lobbies, museums, sidewalks and storefronts. Our team designs, builds, plants and cares for green spaces across New York City, and we have been doing it since 1959. Here is some of what we have built.

Terraces and rooftops

West 63rd Street: we removed a tired courtyard garden and put in new irrigation, 6,000 new plants, a 1,200 sq ft sod lawn and a fire pit. We still take care of it.

After

Cherry Street, by the Manhattan Bridge: custom planters, irrigation, planting and maintenance on a common terrace. West 37th Street: year-round care and seasonal planting on a rooftop garden. Rodney Street, Williamsburg: two unfinished roof decks got new soil, irrigation, lighting and plantings, with every material craned up.

Green roofs and living walls

Edgewater, New Jersey: a sedum green roof and custom steel fencing over the Hudson. East 68th Street: a 35-foot green wall of custom-made terracotta and rare native ferns, with drip irrigation, which we plant and maintain.

Gardens and stonework

Backyards, brownstones and front gardens, from a minimalist flagstone and bluestone yard in Harlem to the full rehab of two acres of gardens in Bronxville. On East 83rd Street we designed a new boxwood hedge to go with a new facade, and hand-picked every plant.

Interiors and museums

We install and maintain exhibits and gardens at the Guggenheim Museum, inside and out. For another museum exhibit we hand-selected every plant in Florida, then delivered, installed and cared for it. An 18-foot Pachira we sourced in South Florida went into a museum first; we later moved it to a retail space at Columbia University.

Custom fabrication

Planters in stainless steel, aluminum, Corten, powder coat, teak, Ipe, cedar and reclaimed wood. Steel tree guards to NYC Parks specs, including a 330-foot run on Willoughby Street in Brooklyn. Retail display racks with hydroponics. Artificial hedges for privacy and equipment screening.

Streets, schools and the holidays

Each year we install 76,000 LED lights on 26 trees along East 125th Street, lit from November to February. We helped a general contractor estimate and build a roof deck at a Brooklyn public school, from tree selection to engineered soil. For the holidays we decorate lobbies, storefronts and homes, with trees up to 25 feet tall and wreaths up to 72 inches wide. See our Christmas and holiday page.
