Lithops Living Stone Succulents

3" $25

Lithops is a genus of succulent plants in the ice plant family, Aizoaceae.

Members of the genus are native to southern Africa.

The name is derived from the Ancient Greek words λίθος 'stone' and ὄψ 'face', referring to the stone-like appearance of the plants.

Lithops, also known as pebble plants, are succulents that grow extremely slowly.

These beauties usually do not get more than 1" above the soil.

Virtually stemless, the thickened leaves are buried in the soil, with only the upper surfaces visible.

Two leaves grow during each rainy season, and form a fleshy roundish structure that is slit across the top.

Lithops are non-toxic to humans and pets.

It is believed that African children eat these plants as a means to quench their thirst.

Lithops are mostly grown as houseplants, but can also be grown outside.

If you live in a place where temperatures get below 40F (like here in the northeast of the US), move the lithops indoors during the winter.

Water lithops plants sparingly, they don't need a lot of water!

We do not warranty or guarantee any living plant. No returns or exchanges on live plants. All sales are final on live plants
