This cactus species is native to Mexico.

The species is commonly grown as an ornamental for its fragrant flowers in the fall.

The fruit tastes good, rather like gooseberries!

Fishbone cactus thrive in indirect light, but can tolerate periods of bright sun.

Like most cacti, fishbone cactus houseplant does best when allowed to dry out between watering.

During winter, cut watering in half and then reinstate when spring growth begins.
