 Elephant Ears is the common name for this group of tropical perennial plants grown for their large, heart-shaped leaves.

A perfect tropical plant for accenting the summer garden or potted container.

When they are well watered and placed in a bright growing area, watch how quickly this beauty fills out.

They grow best in bright, but indirect sunlight.

Too much sunlight can burn the leaves, while too little sunlight can cause yellowing.

When growing elephant ears, remember they crave water.

They are a swamp plant that develops a good, hardy root system under water.

When growing Colocasia inside, be sure to choose a fairly large container to pot the plant in.

Colocasia can attain a good size, so you will want to be prepared.

This is a cultivar of the Taro Root that's used as a food staple in tropical regions.

Plants bedded outside in summer can be lifted and wintered-over as potted plants inside.
