These beauties come in a Grower's Pot.

Tulips form a genus of spring-blooming perennial herbaceous bulbiferous geophytes.

The flowers are usually large, showy and brightly colored, generally red, pink, yellow, or white, but can be many other colors too.

They often have a different colored blotch at the base of the tepals, internally.

Tulip flowers are usually cup-shaped with three petals and three sepals.

There's a tulip for every setting, from small “species” tulips in naturalized woodland areas, to larger tulips that fit formal garden plantings from beds to borders.

Although technically considered a perennial, most of the time tulips act more like annuals, and gardeners will not get repeat blooms season after season.

The reason for this is most areas can't recreate their native climate of having cold winters and summers that are hot and dry.

Most varieties are indeed almost perfectly symmetrical.

The blooms have three petals and three sepals, but since the sepals are almost the same size and shape as the petals, tulips appear to have six petals to a bulb.

Tulips require full sun for the best display, which means at least 6 hours of bright, direct sunlight per day.

They also prefer fast-draining soil.

Coffee grounds meet the test for an all-purpose, slow-release fertilizer, as they contain both essential and secondary nutrients.

The low amount of nitrogen and its slow release into the ground, make it a good choice for tulips!

You should water your tulips on a weekly basis.

Tulips need 2/3 of an inch of water per week, particularly in later winter and early spring, to help the plant prepare to flower.

Unless drought conditions are in place, tulips need minimal supplemental watering.
