Before reclassification, Senetti was known as a cineraria hybrid, but Senettis are nothing like seed-grown cinerarias that are grown as a houseplant.
Their large, daisy like flowers bloom from early spring until summer.
Bloom count can be as high as 200 on a plant grown in a 10" pot.
Senetti also has a unique reblooming ability.
Cut plants back 50 percent for a fresh flush of blooms.
Plants will stop flowering when temperatures are 80 degrees or higher at night during the summer.
Senetti is an early spring plant, and likes cool weather.
Upright and bushy with excellent branching, Senetti is well suited as an outdoor patio plant in large containers, and in beds as a bedding plant.
Go large.
Senetti needs room to strut its stuff.
Plants will be happiest in pot sizes that are 8" or larger.
We have lot of planters that would love to be paired with your Pericallis!
Senetti like to be planted where they can access plenty of sun, but it’s important to keep this exquisite specimen protected from cold easterly winds.
While senetti can still thrive in wet weather, they are quite vulnerable to cold and frost.
Soil with a pH of 5.6 using a peat based compost would be best.
With this in mind, it’s best to water your senetti around midday, as cold water can shock the roots.
Senetti are prone to thirst and should be watered regularly.
