- While growing, cacti and succulents should be watered at least once a week. Some cactus devotees water more often than this.
- During each watering, give the soil a good soaking, so that water runs out of the 'drainage holes' of the pots.
- Place plants as close as possible to the window and provide good air circulation. Rotate them once a month to ensure even light.
- With indoor cacti, it's better to under-water, about once a month. Overwatering is not an option.
- A cactus can survive without water for many, many months, but rot is an instant killer.
