Betula pendula, commonly known as Silver Birch, Warty Birch, European White Birch, or East Asian White Birch, is a species of tree in the family Betulaceae, native to Europe and parts of Asia, though in southern Europe, it is only found at higher altitudes.

But as a landscape tree, it can be planted almost anywhere in our beautiful country!

Weeping silver birch growing conditions include full sun and well-drained, moist soil.

The soil should never dry out.

A thick layer of mulch around the base of the tree will help hold moisture in.

This beauty should be watered slowly.

This will allow the water to seep into each area that you water, and penetrate deep into the soil around the tree.

A Silver Birch should not need any fertilizer, unless there is an issue with the soil that needs balancing.

Dead branches should be removed as often as possible to keep the soil clear, as well as to keep the tree and its surroundings looking nice.

If you need to prune the tree, wait until near the end of the growing season.

Late summer or early fall is the best time period for pruning.
