Why Styrofoam Peanuts?

There are a few reasons.

It is a cost-effective way to provide additional drainage for your plants. 

Also a space filler when cultivating plants in large planters.

The peanuts fill excess space in containers.

Use styrofoam peanuts when planting in a large planter.

You can also use in smaller containers, it's really all about individual preference. 

Sometimes you may have a weight limitation on your deck or rooftop, or even in your apartment or house. 

But you still want your beautiful plant(s) in a large container.

If you have a large planter, filling the entire planter with soil isn't cost effective, and in some instances, prohibited because of weight constraints. 

Styrofoam peanuts are lightweight, but have volume.

This saves on labor, unnecessary added weight, keeps costs down (soil can get expensive).

Non-Biodegradable.
