The name Dracaena comes from the Greek word 'drakaina,' which means Female Dragon.

This particular plant produces a red gum when cut, which when thickened is said to resemble the blood of a dragon.

We have a large assortment of Dracaena houseplants to choose from, so many choices, take a look!

The dracaena plant is a popular ornamental houseplant, grown both indoors and outdoors in subtropical climates.

It reaches a height of approximately 3' indoors, and has a bushy tree type of look.

Its glossy leaves can grow up to 1' long, and a couple of inches wide!

Dracaena prefers bright, indirect light.

It tolerates dimmer light, but growth slows as a result.

These beauties do well with standard indoor potting soil, loose and well drained.

Allow these thespians to dry between waterings, but not completely.

They are more susceptible to root rot, so be very careful to never allow them to sit in water.

Dracaena trees prefer the soil to dry between waterings, but not completely through the pot.

Typically, watering every 10-14 days will keep the soil with a nice even level of moisture.

They feel most comfortable, and will thrive between 65ºF and 80ºF.

They will suffer if it gets too cold, and cannot tolerate freezing temperatures.

Fertilize lightly at the beginning of spring, or twice a year with controlled-release fertilizer.

Don’t apply fertilizer to a dracaena for one month after bringing the plant home from the nursery.

The plant needs time to acclimate itself to its new location.

Feeding your dracaena too soon after relocation puts additional stress on the plant.

When in its native environment, the dracaena cinnabari tree can grow at heights of  985'-4900'+ (300-1500 meters).

We do not warranty or guarantee any living plant. No returns or exchanges on live plants. All sales are final on live plants.
