Cacti is the Latin plural of cactus, and for English speakers is a more popular usage.

Cactuses is the English plural, and is also completely acceptable to use.

A cactus is a member of the plant family Cactaceae, a family comprising about 127 genera with some 1750 known species of the order Caryophyllales.

The word "cactus" derives, through Latin, from the Ancient Greek κάκτος, kaktos, a name originally used by Theophrastus for a spiny plant whose identity is now not certain. 

Cactus lifespan typically ranges from 10 to 200 years, depending on the species - amazing! 

Cacti growing outdoors in ideal conditions tend to live longer than those cultivated as houseplants.

However, with good care many indoor cactuses can live for many decades.

Most cacti species don't need exposure to direct sunlight to survive.

Just like other succulents, cacti plants will do well when positioned in places with good light and not necessarily direct sunlight.

If you are growing your plants indoors, position them on a south-facing window to help them access bright light

While growing, cacti and succulents should be watered at least once a week.

Some cactus lovers water more often than this.

During each watering, give the soil a good soaking, so that water runs out of the 'drainage holes' of the pots.
