Aloes have become extremely popular garden plants, primarily for their drought tolerance and showy blooms that are produced mainly in the winter months.

Of the numerous hybrids that have been bred to meet the demand for these plants, one of the most successful is Aloe Hedgehog, a low growing, clump forming plant that has proved itself over and over.

‘Hedgehog’ is a hybrid of indigenous aloe species.

Place your Hedgehog Aloe in a well-lit area of your home.

Your Hedgehog loves a sunny area and flourishes in direct sunlight.

It will not thrive if permanently placed away from a window.

Hedgehog Aloe is a succulent, so it does not require much water.

However, in the summer during its active growth period, keep the soil damp, but not soggy.

During its rest period in winter, only water once in a while when the soil is completely dry.

Do not let water collect at the bottom of the pot, it can bring on root rot, the bane of any succulent.

Your Hedgehog Aloe will do just fine in normal room temperatures, between 65-75 F.

This beauty does not require any extra humidity, and can handle dry air.

For best results, use a general houseplant fertilizer at half strength 2-3 times during the spring and summer.

Place this little gem in full, outdoor sun during the late spring and summer.

It will most likely reward you with soft-orange blooms that attract hummingbirds.

If placed outdoors, it will require a bit more water.

Look out for wilting leaves, which can be a result of inadequate water in the summer.

We do not warranty or guarantee any living plant. No returns or exchanges on live plants. All sales are final on live plants.
